Embroidery Pieces

For the first piece I was inspired by this sunset image: Source:  https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/545146729899543769/ I used an embroidery hoop and embroidery thread I found on Amazon. This was the outcome: For my second embroidery piece I wanted to sew a range of flowers, for this I used a number of different coloured threads, I also chose to do this piece on material I sourced from an old pair of jeans. For my third piece I decided to use the equipment from the embroidery kit again to make a small and detailed embroidered cherry tree. Here are my final product:

Emmi Kahn.docx Emmi Kahn is a med student who embroiders atomically correct organs and systems using colourful threads. Within her embroidery she focuses on the connections between beauty, anatomy, and the environment, usually incorporating natural and floral aspects into her pieces. Khan started creating these types of artwork whilst studying biomedical sciences at University, the further she advanced in her course the more precise her pieces became more and more precise. she believes science and art go hand in hand together and believes them to be “different approaches towards observing, processing and presenting the world around us.”. How reliable is this source?  I believe this source to be reliable and is used to tell the reason behind her embroidery.  Source:  https://www.thisiscolossal.com/2020/01/emmi-khan-anatomy-embroidery/
