University Collage

I had an idea of making a collage about the stress and confusion of choosing what Universities to apply to. In order to make my collage I collected a prospectus and any leaflets from University Open days. I then went through all of the leaflets and books ripping out any relevant pages or words that apply to the general stress and decisions of University, but also more specific decisions such as what course i want to do and which University I want to go to. I used a paintbrush and PVA glue to attach the bits of paper to a frame a used as a base for my collage. I then used Indian ink to write words about the stress all over my collage, i also splattered the ink on it too. This being the final result:

Collage - 4 Types

 There are 4 different types of Collages. Papier colle  - loosely meaning "pasted paper" or "paper cut-out", it is a collage technique where printed paper is applied to a surface for example a canvas, in order to create a new image. Examples of this method can be seen through the work of: Picasso, Braque and Juan Gris Decoupage  - loosely meaning "cut out", is a method of cutting, arranging and pasting coloured paper, usually by layering, to create an image which is then sealed with varnish. Examples of this method can be seen through the work of: Henri Matisse [Blue Nude  II  (1952)] Photomontage  - this type of collage made by cutting up and sticking down photos to create a new image, this new image can then be photographed to create a seamless aspect to your piece.
