James Hudek is an American artist who specialises in abstract expressionism art using acrylic paper, paint and other materials such as magazines "to create a mood on canvas". Hudek is inspired by things he sees such as buildings, old billboards and signs, using his own street photography within his art. he says he uses these images to inspire a visual for his pieces prior to their creation however his artwork takes on a life of its own and is never truly planned out beforehand.
How reliable is this source?

I believe this source to be reliable as it is Hudek's official site, which he has written himself.

Paint Pouring

For this process first I filled a tray halfway with water  I then mixed up my paint colours using both poster paints and oil paints mixing each colour with either linseed oil or white spirit. For my first attempt I used a pink colour pallet making a range of pink shades of paint along side red white and a few purple shades.  I began by pouring my different colours in the water filled tray, then using the end if a paintbrush to mix the colours to create a nice pattern in the water. I then placed a piece of paper onto the patterns then lifting the paper off to reveal the pattern that has now been printed onto the paper. I repeated this process numerous times to create a range of different patterns and pieces. After all the paper was dry I picked the pieces that I thought worked best an put them in sets to be mounted to display in my exhibition.

Joseph Lee inspired artwork

After looking at Joseph Lee's work I was inspired to try out a similar art form to his portrait work. For my piece I decided to take photos and manipulate my image using a printed out copy on cartridge paper. i mixed up colours in similar tones to my my portrait photos, I then also mixed my paint into textured paste a this is a cheaper way to create an effect of thick paint smudges and dries a lot quicker too. Here are my results:
