Paint Pouring

For this process first I filled a tray halfway with water  I then mixed up my paint colours using both poster paints and oil paints mixing each colour with either linseed oil or white spirit. For my first attempt I used a pink colour pallet making a range of pink shades of paint along side red white and a few purple shades.  I began by pouring my different colours in the water filled tray, then using the end if a paintbrush to mix the colours to create a nice pattern in the water. I then placed a piece of paper onto the patterns then lifting the paper off to reveal the pattern that has now been printed onto the paper. I repeated this process numerous times to create a range of different patterns and pieces. After all the paper was dry I picked the pieces that I thought worked best an put them in sets to be mounted to display in my exhibition.

Ed Chapman.docx Ed Chapman is an contemporary artist who makes mosaics using a range of materials such as vinyl, ceramic tiles, paper, and coins to create spectacular portraits. His work is very recognisable and can be found all around the world in a number of exhibitions and can even be found in a number of rich and famous peoples homes. Numerous hours of work go into making his mosaics, every tiny piece being carefully cut by hand to fit perfectly resulting in his work having an amazing finish. His portraits range from celebrities in music and film, to commissioned work of animals, family portraits and world leaders. his portraits have been featured in magazine in the UK and across the globe, even featuring on TV.  How reliable is this source?  This source is the official website of Ed Chapman where he also sells his work, i believe this source to be reliable as to lay out the achievements of Chapman. Joseph Lee

Joseph Lee.docx Joseph Lee is a self-taught artist (and actor)who mainly paints large scale portraits where the facial features of the portraits are unrecognisable because of thick paint smudges covering their faces. through his artwork he explores links between external reality and the internal process through the manipulation of faces and other objects. he does this using a variation of brush strokes, thickness and colour choices used within his paintings.
